Zimbambwean woman arrested for drugs

A 27-year-old Zimbabwean woman from Hillbrow in Johannesburg, was arrested at Cape Town International Airport on Saturday for being in possession of tik valued at more than R1.8-million, Western Cape police said.

The woman was arrested by members of the border police based at Cape Town International Airport after she arrived on a flight from Johannesburg at 10am, Western Cape Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said.  

He added that after passengers had collected their luggage from the carousel, the border police members conducted random searches.

 Members found 8.1kg of tik with an estimated street value of R1.8million in the woman’s suitcase.

Can wyk also said that she is due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
