The Hawks have arrested 58 police officers countrywide for corruption over the past five months.
Briefing the police portfolio committee in Parliament yesterday, the unit's national head Berning Ntlemeza revealed 37 of those arrests were made in Gauteng.
Ntlemeza says since April, the Hawks' anti-corruption unit apprehended their some of own.
Of the four arrests, two are from the national office’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), while the others are from KwaZulu-Natal and the North West DPCI.
The DPCI is cleaning up within itself.
