Zille: use your vote to choose credible leaders

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille urged all eligible voters to cast their ballots.

She was speaking after making her cross at the St Paul's Church in Rondebosch this morning.

Zille says voting gives ordinary South Africans the power to choose their leaders.

Meanwhile, residents in the troubled Vuwani community in Limpopo have kept their promise to boycott the elections.

This is after some voting stations have seen less than ten people coming in to vote since this morning.

A community member says residents who have gone to vote will not be intimidated, but he says they are going against what was a unified decision to boycott the elections.

Meanwhile, the South African National Defence Force is monitoring the area, while helping police and officials set up tents.
