A man was killed this evening after his car crashed into a barrier and bakkie on the Ascott-on-Vaal Road in the Vanderbijlpark area.

On assessment, paramedics found the body of a man lying partially beneath the bakkie showing no signs of life.

The man was carefully extricate from beneath the vehicle and assessed by paramedics.

Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.

Nothing more could be done for the man and he was declared dead on scene.

the occupants of the bakkie were assessed and found to have escaped injury.
It is believed that the driver lost control of the light motor vehicle, causing it to crash into the bridge barriers, eject the driver, and finally crash into the bakkie.

The details surrounding this incident are subject to the investigation of local authorities.
