The Democratic Alliance  has recommended that the South African Police Services should establish a specialised task unit to deal with student protests.

This after clashes on the Wits campus yesterday in which police fired teargas and rubber bullets at students, and students pelted the police with stones.

Students also torched and stoned several cars in Braamfontein.
