Gordhan declines Abrahams’ invite to make representations

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has told National Director of Public Prosecutions, Shaun Abrahams that he would not be following his request to make representations yesterday or any other day for that matter.

Gordhan also requested that Abrahams withdraw the charges against him. His responses to Abrahams was set out in a letter by Gordhan’s lawyer Tebogo Malatji on Tuesday.


Abrahams had set a deadline on Tuesday for representations by Gordhan, Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza and SARS commissioner Tom Moyane in relation to an early retirement payout given to former SARS deputy commissioner, Ivan Pillay six years ago.
