The African National Congress has suspended Western Cape provincial chairperson Marius Fransman for five years.

Fransman was asked to step aside after allegations of sexual harassment had been levelled against him earlier this year.

The National Disciplinary Committee has found him guilty of abusing his office for the purpose of attempting to obtain sexual favours, and also of bringing the party into disrepute.
