Four killed in 'gang related' drive-by shooting in Eerste River

In Eerste River, four individuals were murdered and police are searching for suspects. Siyabulela Malo police spokesperson said, another individual were wounded in the crossfire and is in a critical condition.

On Monday at 8.20pm, in Mars Street, Somerset Heights in Kleinvlei attempted murder and murder cases were opened after an incident on Malo said murder and attempted murder cases were opened.

Siyabulela Malo said, police found five victims. Three individuals were confirmed dead and two were taken to hospital. Yesterday a fourth passed on in hospital. They were aged 18 to 20. No arrests has been made yet. Julian Unthank Community Policing Forum spokesperson said the incident appeared to be gang-related. Unthank said, the young victims were believed to be from Malibu, who were standing on a corner when a taxi came past and started shooting at them.

They have appealed to the cluster commander to have police members who were removed from the area deployed back into Kleinvlei. Kleinvlei is a hot spot at the moment. He added, they also have a problem with residents being fearful of sharing information with police or the CPF to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.
