Loadshedding has been suspended for the weekend. Eskom says that they did not plan on cutting electricity for the next two days.
They have implemented
loadshedding again on Wednesday and Thursday evening to build reserves after
not being able to bring a few units back online after maintenance.
Eskom said that because the
demand for electricity would blow over the weekend, they would use this time to
build up emergency reserves so that they are prepared for higher electricity
demand next week.
Spokesperson Sikonathi
Mantshantsha said that while this is the case Eskom requests people of South
Africa to continue to use electricity sparingly as the system does remain
vulnerable and unpredictable.
