18-year-old Ladismith man to appear in court for raping teenage girl

Ladismith police, in the Little Karoo, arrested a 18-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl on Saturday in Lang Street, Ladismith. 

‘’Preliminary information reveals that the victim was awakened at about 03:30 this morning, Sunday, 25 April 2021 when she realised that the suspects had just raped her.’’ Said the police’s Michael Pojie.

‘’The suspect and his mom were quests of her mother’s. She then woke up his mom that shared a bed with her and reported her ordeal to her. (When they went to sleep, he was laying in a different bed.) The mom of the 14-year-old victim accompanied her to the local police station where they reported the rape this morning.’’ Pojie added.

The police spokesperson said the man is behind bars and is expected to make his first court appearance in the Ladismith Magistrates’ court once charged.
