Eskom says it is NOT expecting to implement load shedding on Wednesday, as it says, ‘’have enough generation capacity’’.
The ailing parastatal implemented load shedding
between 9p.m on Tuesday until 5a.m on Wednesday, after a generation unit, each
at the Tutuka, Medupi and Hendrina power stations tripped, but those units have
since recovered.
Eskom says a further 2 generation units are
expected to return to service later today.
It added that emergency generation reserves
were also sufficiently replenished.
The power utility urged consumers to use
electricity sparingly, ‘’as the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable’’
“As previously communicated, the possibility of
load shedding remains elevated while Eskom continues to implement reliability
maintenance, and as such the system will continue to be constrained during this
period.” Eskom said in a statement.
