Water and Sanitation services cut short due to Attack on a City Official

 


 

The City of Cape Town has of yesterday withdrawn its services for Water and Sanitation in the Samora Machel area, following the Shooting of one of it’s Officials during the repairing of a collapsed sewer pipeline on Tuesday, where it occurred that four suspected teenagers robbed the City’s team of their personal belongings comprising of Cell phones and wallets

The City has advised that until further notice and until it is safe to resume services they are temporarily withdrawing their service in the Area

Staff Members who were on site and who were traumatized by this ordeal were taken home and have also received trauma Counselling

Mayco Member for Water and Waste Xanthea Limberg has condemned the incident on the basis that “It is unconscionable to target staff who are on site going about their public service duties, and has vowed that as the City they will do everything in its power to assist the SAPS in its efforts to bring the guilty parties to book.”
