Mossel Bay police confiscates drugs worth R800 000

A 52-year-old suspect will soon appear in a Mossel Bay court after he was found with an estimated street value of R800 000 along the N2 highway outside Mossel Bay on Friday.

It’s understood the drugs were destined for delivery in Mossel Bay.

‘’The police received a tipoff about a vehicle which was enroute from Cape Town with a consignment of drugs. This information was operationalised with the strategic deployment of members attached to the Mossel Bay police on the highway.’’ Said SAPS spokesperson, Christopher Spies.

‘’They later stopped a Ford Figo near a petrol filling station. A searched of the vehicle ensued and the members found heroin stashed in the glove compartment and a bag with Tik hidden in the boot. The police confiscated 1.63 kilogram of heroin and 1.18 kilogram of Tik. They also seized the motor vehicle.‘’ added Spies.

The 52-year-old suspect is facing a charge of possession of drugs. He will appear in court once charged.
