Three killed in shooting incident in Leiden, Delft

Anti-Gang Unit detectives have launched a manhunt following a shooting incident that occurred in Leiden, Delft on Tuesday evening.

It’s believed that unknown suspects started firing several shots, wounding 3 people and injuring two. Amongst those injured was a 13-year-old girl.

The incident is believed to be gang-related.

‘’Reports indicate that an unknown number of suspects started firing several shots on the corner of Umvoti and Sabi Streets at 19:05 fatally wounding three persons and injuring two,’’ said Brigadier Novela Potelwa.

‘’A 22-year-old woman and two men aged 39 and 28 died on the scene. A 13-year-old girl and a 33 year old woman sustained serious gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital for medical attention,’’ added Potelwa.

A triple murder and attempted murder case was opened.
