22 years in jail for wife who murdered her policeman husband

46 year old Nonkululeko Ngwabe, has been sentenced 22 years after she was found guilty of killing her husband, Warrant Officer Thulani Ngwabe at the Pietermaritzburg High Court this week.

Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo said Ngwabe’s body was found with multilple stab wounds, on the railway lines near Port Shepstone beach in November 2019. Mhlongo said the wife had allegedly hired accomplices to kill her husband, which led to the arrest of three other suspects.

All accused appeared in Court several times on charges of murder and were remanded in custody till to date as their bail was successfully opposed. Mhlongo said their case was transferred to the Pietermaritzburg High Court for trial and was adjourned to June 18.
