Convicted Cape murderer, Phelo Mtala, sentenced to 2 life terms

A notorious criminal was sentenced to 2 life terms behind bars at the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.

According to reports, 36-year-old Phelo Mtala, has killed innocent people since 2014, but was acquitted due to a lack of evidence.

Mtala was convicted for the murders of Anga Dekeni, Solethu Nongenzi and Mzimasi Majelimane and of the possession of an illegal firearm in 2016.

The police’s Joseph Swartbooi said that the suspect continued shooting several victims, threatening families of the victims until he was arrested in 2019 for the possession of drugs.
