Khayelitsha residents protest against poor service delivery

Cape Town police confirmed that no damages were reported and no one has been arrested following protest action in Khayelitsha on Tuesday.

About 300 residents from Site B took to the streets on Tuesday morning protesting against poor service delivery.

It is believed they were demanding the City of Cape Town to fix their overflowing sewage drains.

‘’Major routes connecting the area was closed, as protesters blockaded the route with burning tyres. Police was strategically positioned to monitor the march,’’ said Warrant Officer, Joseph Swartbooi.
