UCT approves Proposal for Mandatory vaccination

UCT vice-chancellor, Mamokgethi Phakeng.has announced  that All (UCT) students and staff must get their COVID-19 vaccine shots by 1 January 2022

Phakeng said that at a meeting last weekend, the council discussed this complex matter fully, taking into consideration a range of diverse views.

Vaccine mandates have become issue in the country.

UCT's Elijah Moholola has confirmed that the UCT council has approved in principle a proposal requiring that all staff as a condition of being able to perform their duties and all students as a condition of registration provide acceptable proof of having been vaccinated against COVID-19.
