Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana visited a Delft community ahead of the State of the Nation Address (Sona). Some Delft community members told the minister that they are desperate for housing.

Kekana encouraged residents to participate in the 2022 census, saying that the information collected could help bring housing or hospitals to the area. Some members of the community have been waiting 40-45 years for houses. Many community members have also complained about poor healthcare in the area. The area has 3 hospitals, only one is open 24 hours.
