Expect delays in refuse collection in Cape's Far South areas

The City of Cape Town says residents in the Far South areas who are scheduled for refuse collection on Monday will unfortunately not take place.

The municipality says this is because the contractor who is servicing the area is experiencing a vehicle shortage.

The affected areas are amongst others, Simon’s Town, Noordhoek, Clovelly, St James, Muizenberg and Lake Michelle.

‘’We are currently putting a contingency plan in place to ensure a service is rendered this week. Unfortunately, this will not be possible today. The City unfortunately does not have sufficient capacity to assist the contractor which services the area,’ said Grant Twigg, Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Waste Management.

Residents and businesses are asked to remove their bins from pavements and place them out again on Tuesday for service.
