One dead, 2 others injured when bakkie and car collides at Joostenberg turn off

A man has died after the vehicle he was travelling in, crashed on the N1, in the direction of Cape Town at the Joostenberg turn off, on Saturday afternoon.

The incident involved a bakkie and two light motor vehicles.

‘’The male driver of the bakkie was trapped in the vehicle and extricated by EMS’ Rescue team and officials from the Fire Department. Sadly, he was declared dead on scene. Forensic Pathology Services (FPS) officials were on scene and followed the standard protocol whilst the body of the deceased was recovered,’’ said Western Cape EMS’ spokesperson Deanna February

February added that two other people sustained serious injuries and were transported to Karl Bremer and Vincent Palotti Hospital.

‘’We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.’’
