Worcester Couple Arrested for Possession of R1.4 Million in Mandrax Tablets

A couple was arrested near Worcester on Thursday for possessing more than R1.4 million of the drug, Mandrax.

The vehicle of a married couple, 54 and 52 years of age, was stopped near N1 on Thursday after police said they received a tip about a vehicle with a plethora of substances in their vehicle.

Police said they seized more than 40 000 Mandrax pills. The tablets were found in the glove compartment of the vehicle. The drugs, along with the vehicle, were seized for further investigation.

The couple is expected to appear in Worcester Magistrate's Court on Friday for the charges of dealing illegal substances.
