Three arrested for Khayelitsha shooting

Western Cape police have made a breakthrough when they arrested three suspects in connection with the shooting of five people in Mandela Park, Khayelitsha which occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

“Harare police attended to a shooting incident at approximately 01:30 when they found five victims with gunshot wounds,” said Captain FC van Wyk.

Two of the victims succumbed to their injuries, whilst three survived the shooting and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

Van Wyk said that the trio was arrested on Monday morning.

“The suspects aged 29, 32 and 40 will be charged for two counts of murder and three attempted murders. Once charged they will make a court appearance in Khayelitsha Magistrate Court on the mentioned charges.”
