A 15 year old boy was among the eleven people charged for the murder of 31-one-year-old Abongile Mafalala who died after he was attacked by a group of Parkwood residents in June. Mafalala was killed by a mob of residents after he was falsely suspected of a kidnapping in Parkwood.
The State said the teen- accused Number 10, allegedly used his pit bull in the attack. Magistrate Goolam Bawa allowed only the parents of the accused as well as Mafalala’s representatives to attend the proceedings.
The Parkwood 11 have all been
linked via video footage and witness statements. They have been charged with
murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and malicious damage to property
for partaking in attacking an innocent man.
The teenager was released into
his father’s custody.
