Gauteng’s most wanted suspect killed in a shootout with police

 One of Gauteng’s most wanted suspect was killed in a shootout with police on Monday morning in KwaZulu-Natal.

According to Police Lieutenant General Elias Mawela Mbuso said that Ndabazovela Biyela, is positively linked to eight murder, five which was committed in Jabulani between October 2021 and March this year. This includes a police officer that was killed in October 2021.

Police recovered an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Biyela was previously arrested in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng for murder in August 2020 and October 2021 respectively, but he managed to escape from custody.

Last year in may Gautend police issued a reward of up to R100 000 for information which would assist in Biyela’s arrest and conviction. Chief Mawela saluted community members who provided the police with information related to the crimes.
