ANC in the Cape Winelands District Municipality investigates suspected racially assault at fast-food joint

The African National Congress in the Cape Winelands District Municipality are looking into a suspected racial abuse incident that occurred in Worcester, last week.

The alleged racial attack, that took place on 4 July, at a local fast food drive-through where four white men reportedly assaulted 40 year-old Xola Letaba, his female friend and several customers that were waiting in the que to pick up their food at the fast food joint.    

The ANC district municipality`s chief, Whip Hector Yabo said he was approached by one of the victims just days after the incident happened and was infuriated by the fast food`s management ability in not having fully operational cameras when the incident took place, as the police could have used it as evidence for their investigation. Yabo also said that the issue of racism should be dealt with firmly.

Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk said the police are still investigating and no arrests have been made.
