The new Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube made few changes in the cabinet and announced former KwaZulu-Natal premier Sihle Zikalala as the new MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs on Thursday.
The announcement comes after a week Zikalala resigned as
the premier of the province and sees him replace Sipho Hlomuka, who will move
to the Transport portfolio.
Amongst other changes included Education MEC Kwazi
Mshengu being replaced by Mbali Frazer
as a potential premier and Amanda Bani-Mapena will replace Hlengiwe Mavimbela
as the new sports, arts and culture MEC.
While the new ANC provincial chairperson, Siboniso Duma was
appointed as the economic development, tourism and environmental affairs MEC.
Ntuthuko was announced as the human settlements and replaces Jomo Sibiya.
Peggy Nkonyeni will be the finance portfolio replacing the new KZN
premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube who was previously in that role.
