Eskom has released its load shedding schedule for the week ahead. Stage 4 load shedding is in effect and this will last until 5a.m on Monday.
The ailing parastatal said Stage 3 load shedding will then be implemented until 5a.m on Tuesday. It added that Stage 2 loadshedding will then be implemented, and will remain in place until Friday.
‘’Overnight a generation unit each at Arnot and Majuba power
stations returned to service. Eleven generation units are anticipated to return
to service over the next 24 hours, helping to ease the capacity constraints.
This includes approximately 1 300MW of capacity form the Hydro de Cahorra Bassa
in Mozambique.’’
‘’A generation unit each at Tutuka Power Station and at
Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme were forced offline for emergency repairs
overnight,’’ added Mantshantsha.
Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town said its customers will also be on Stage 4 load shedding until 5a.m on Monday. Thereafter it says, it will
load shed on Stage 2 until 10p.m on Monday, where it will move to Stage 3 until
5a.m on Tuesday.
⚡️Eskom’s load-shedding continues into the week ahead, unfortunately.
