The Observatory Civic Association files inderdict against River Club to halt r4.6bn development

The Western Cape High Court will on Friday hear arguments from The Observatory Civic Association, after they have filed an application for an urgent interim interdict against the developer, The Liesbeeck Leisure Property Trust, for what they say are destroying sacred  Khoi and San land.

The campaign has made several attempts to halt the R4.6 billion River Club development project, which has already started. The Observatory Civic Association and the Goringhaicona Khoi Khoin Indigenous Traditional Council, filed papers, last Thursday against the developer.

Judge President John Hlope is set to hear proceedings.
