The Western Cape Education Department said the first day of the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) for the Class of 2022, was smooth sailing.
Out of 73 846 candidates in
the Western Cape, nearly 65 000 candidates wrote their first paper for English
Home Language, First Additional Language, or Second Additional Language, on
Monday morning.
“The first session of the
written matric exams has got off to a good start in the Western Cape, and no
major problems have been reported so far,’’ said Western Cape Education MEC,
David Maynier.
‘’We thank the people of the
Western Cape for their assistance in not disrupting proceedings so far, and
appeal to all residents to make our matrics the VIPs of our province for the
next few weeks while they complete the exams. We wish our candidates the very
best for the exams!” he added.
