A couple was arrested after they were found to be storing more than a ton of copper at a storage facility in Dunoon.
The Nigerian couple was apprehended
on Tuesday by the police's economical infrastructure task team. They said that
they found various infrastructural properties such as water meters and copper
cables.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Poje said that the discovered copped is estimated at approximately R160,000 in value.
“Suspects between the ages of 35 and a 45 years old were arrested, and
are expected to appear in the Cape Town magistrate court once they have been
charged ” he said.
