Fire broke out at an office building in Montague Gardens

The City of Cape Town’s Fire & Rescue Services have been deployed to Phumelela Park, Montague Gardens on Thursday morning, as a fire broke out at an office building.

Spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse said about 70 firefighters are currently battling a blaze.

‘’The City's Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire at the building in Montague Drive at 03:20… At present we have 15 firefighting appliances, excluding specialized vehicles on scene, with 70 firefighters working to contain the fire.’’

Carelse said the cause of the fire is unknown.

‘’Incident Management Team, has been dispatched to assist and that no injuries have been reported.’’
