Load shedding stage to reduce to Stage 5 on Monday

Eskom hopes to reduce the load shedding stage as we head into the Christmas weekend.

The embattled parastatal announced that it will downgrade load shedding to stage 5 from 5am on Monday.

‘’Thereafter, stage 4 load shedding will be implemented at 5am on Tuesday for the remainder of the week,’’ said Eskom’s Crisis Communication Manager, Menzi Mngomenzulu.

The country experienced Stage 6 load shedding as of Friday, which was necessitated due to breakdowns at eight generation units.

The power utility says further updates will be made available as soon as there are any significant changes.
