Some WC areas left without power, following inclement weather

Eskom has announced on Wednesday, that it is experiencing a major backlog of faults in the Cape Metro and parts of the Western Cape.

In a statement, the parastatal said this is due to infrastructure damage caused by the recent storms across the province, as well as the ongoing cable theft and vandalism of infrastructure, which Eskom says, has contributed to the power supply challenges.

The areas worst affected are Khayelitsha, Delft, Bluedowns, Piketberg, Malmesbury, Vredendal, and parts of the Overberg.

This outage comes as the country are experiencing load shedding.

‘’Eskom technicians are working tirelessly throughout the week to address the backlog and restore electricity supply as soon as possible to customers.

Eskom has urged customers for patience and to log a fault via the Eskom App or its call centre on 08600 37566.

‘’Eskom apologises for any inconvience and appeals to its customers to remain patient.’’
