The City`s law Enforcement Marine and Environmental Unit members arrested a man for having possession of crayfish tails worth R100 000.
This comes after officials were patrolling the Strand area, Saturday, when they spotted 4 adult males standing behind and appearing nervous when they saw the officers.
According to the City`s Law enforcement spokesperson Wayne Dyason, the officers stopped and approached the vehicle.
“The owner of the bakkie, who remained at the vehicle was
questioned and the officers then saw a large number of crayfish tails in the
bakkie”, he said.
Police recovered 200 crayfish tails and arrested the suspect.
