Metro Police arrested three suspects in possession of crayfish valued at approximately R65 000 in the Eerste Rivier area on Thursday. The suspects were detained at Kleinvlei SAPS.
According to Metro police spokesperson Ruth Solomons, officers were told to be on the lookout for a vehicle
suspected to be transporting crayfish. Officers then requested permission to
conduct a search after they spotted the vehicle on Eerste River way.
388 whole crayfish and
more than 2 000 crayfish tails were found with R9000 in cash in the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested
for Fishing or Possession of Western Cape Rock Lobster without a permit.
