A 75-year-old man has collapsed and later died, due to injuries sustained, in Victoria Road, Woodstock, on Thursday.

News understands that the 75-year-old was on his way home, after he collected his Old Age
Pension Grant.
An eye-witness, Yumnah, explained what transpired: “He
was just walking, coming from drawing his Sassa then fell over and knocked his
head to the back. We waited about 20 minutes for the Ambulance and in time the
kept loosing his pulse and died”.
Western Cape police said a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
“A 75 year old male collapse in front of a bed shop in
Victoria Road Woodstock. While he was falling, he sustained injuries to his
head. The medical response team on the scene declared the person as deceased. A
post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” said police spokesperson
Captain F.C Van Wyk.
