Man arrested in Swartruggens, North West, for housebreaking and theft

Martin Nyakula was arrested for housebreaking and theft after the SAPS of Boitekong conducted an operation in collaboration with Phokeng K9 Unit, Rustenburg Public Order Police and Swartruggens Detectives on Friday.

According to reports, burglary was reported at a farm on Friday in Swartruggens, where intruders allegedly stole a safe with rifles, a 9mm Glock firearm with ammunition, three plasma televisions, cameras and a motor bike.

The teams drove to where Nyakula was, and found him in possession of 2  gas cylinders, a cutting torch, a grinder, a five pound hammer, a chain block and other housebreaking implements with an estimated value of R300 000.00.

He was then arrested for burglary and theft and will reappear in court on Wednesday for legal aid.
