A man arrested for human trafficking will appear in Aberdeen Magistrate court on Wednesday.
Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said a task team from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Graaff-Reinet made an extensive investigative work, during the investigation they uncovered cases of human trafficking and rape that came up when they were investigating a case of rape that was opened in February.
Their investigation led them
to making an arrest of a 41-year-old man from Aberdeen, who was linked to five
cases of human trafficking and rape between 2020 and 2023 in Eastern Cape and
other provinces.
The team from Graaff-Reinet
made a breakthrough on Monday in their investigations arresting the 41-year-old
man for his involvement in several serious criminal cases such as human
trafficking, rape and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm,
intimidation and child labour.
The man is due to appear in
the Aberdeen Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday
