Duo arrested in Bellville for R4.5million's worth of mandrax tablets

Two suspects, aged 30 and 35, were arrested in Bellville, on Saturday, for being in possession of approximately R4.5million’s worth of drugs.

The police’s FC van Wyk said that officers received a tipoff about a suspicious Silver Hyundai at a premises in Farad Street, Stikland with a huge consignment of mandrax tablets in it.

‘’ The members immediately operationalised the information and found the vehicle with two occupants in it at the mentioned address.  They searched the occupants and vehicle and found 60 bags containing about 1 000 Mandrax tablets each (90 kilograms) in their possession,’’ said Captain FC Van Wyk.

Van Wyk added that the duo were arrested for dealing in drugs and are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrates court on Monday.
