The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)’s Cape Town office has temporarily closed its doors, due to the lack of the building’s water supply.

In a statement, the CCMA said the closure was effective as of Monday, 17 July 2023, adding it is unclear when its regional office will reopen again, as no date has been set on when the obstruction in the building’s water supply, will be reconnected again.

"Due to this development, please note that cases that were scheduled for this morning, 17 July 2023 at the Cape Town office will be finalised and those scheduled for hearing in alternative venues outside the Cape Town office or on virtual platforms will proceed as scheduled," read the statement.

The labour union redirected users to make referrals and applications using the CCMA’s website or via its social media pages.

"Users can also send case-related queries or refer disputes by sending an email to: ctn@ccma.org.za and by using the following telephone number 021- 469-0111."
