Beware of your belongings whilst shopping, warns Milnerton CPF

With the festive season in full swing, opportunists are using this time to score on ‘free items.’

The Milnerton Community Police Forum (CPF) has sent out a warning to shoppers to be wary of their belongings, as it says several cellphones were stolen at popular shopping complex, Canal Walk.

In a statement on Facebook, Milnerton CPF said that over the past weekend, they received a warning from a member of the public who had his cellphone stolen at Canal Walk on Friday evening.

‘’We are unable to verify his version of events but are aware that a number of phones have been stolen at the mall.’’

According to the forum, a minor was also pick pocketed in another incident, this time at the Wonderland and lost his brand new phone.

‘’Milnerton SAPS have advised us that they will be placing additional members at the mall over the festive season to curb these incidents of crime.’’
