Police are investigating the stabbing of a Grade 11 pupil outside the JG Meiring High School in Goodwood on Monday.
The Western Cape's Education Department (WCED) says the learner was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
It is not yet clear what led to the stabbing, and the unknown
suspect is still at large.
According to the department is aware of the stabbing incident.
“Our district support team will be at the school on Tuesday 13 February to provide counselling to learners and teachers,”said Kerry Mauchline, WCED spokesperson, “and the police will investigate the incident. We appeal to anyone with any information that could lead to the arrest.”
Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the provincial police spokesperson,
said Parow police were investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing
incident that left a 16-year-old boy with a stab wound to the head.
