Suspect Arrested for 2022 Murder of Western Cape Police Sergeant

A 32-year-old suspect has been arrested on Monday by the Hawks' Bellville-based National Priority Violent Crime team, the K9 Unit and Western Cape Flying Squad, for the 2022 murder of Sergeant Mnatwana.

Mnatwana was shot outside his home after returning from work in September 2022. The Hawks' investigation led to the suspect's location and subsequent arrest.

Major General Makgato, Provincial Head of the Hawks in the Western Cape, praised the team's perseverance and resilience in solving the case.

The suspect is set to appear at the Athlone Magistrates' Court on May 22, 2024.
