Task Team to Meet with Baboon-Affected Communities

Starting next week, the Cape Peninsula Baboon Management Joint Task Team (CPBMJTT) will engage with communities in the Southern Peninsula that have been affected by baboons. The task team includes representatives from SANParks, CapeNature, and the City of Cape Town and aims to implement the Cape Peninsula Baboon Strategic Management Plan (CPBSMP) with locally developed solutions.

The meetings will focus on the history and movement of the local baboon troop, interventions and solutions to be implemented by the three authorities, and the transition to fully operationalising the CPBSMP. Residents are encouraged to review the CPBSMP and the Fencing Report published last year to propose suitable solutions for their areas.

The meetings, scheduled from 17:00 to 19:00, will be held in person. Dates and venues are available on the City of Cape Town's website.
