Provincial Counterfeit and Illicit Goods Team, POCC Operations team, Kleinvlei SAPS, Operation Lockdown and Law Enforcement were deployed in Kleinvlei due to the escalation in murders and attempted murders as well as a rise in vehicle hijacking in Forest Village.
“Members searched numerous residential addresses and in the
process arrested several suspects for the possession of imitation firearm and
driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drugs and dealing in
drugs. The seized items being 60 x sachets TIK, 900gr of uncut TIK, one sachet
of Cocaine, four mandrax tablets, eight packages of compressed cannabis, 30 see
through bags containing compressed cannabis weighing a combined weight of
900kg, one 9mm firearm with nine 9mm
blank rounds and an amount of R4260-00 in cash, was handed in at Kleinvlei
SAPS. Total street value of the seized TIK and cocaine is estimated at R5000”, said
Captain FC Van Wyk in a statement released.
Van Wyk further added that in the early morning of Sunday, members intensified patrols in Forest Village and after spotting a white VW Polo, members stopped and searched the vehicle and found a .38 Special revolver. The occupants of the vehicle were four males and one female. The suspects were detained.
