A suspect faces charges for the possession of drugs after a car he was travelling in was found with drugs as well as an unlicensed firearm.
It is alleged that Members of the Anti-Gang Unit
conducted an intelligence driven operation in Goodwood and pulled over a white
Suzuki and found drugs in the vehicle.
A licensed firearm was also found in the possession of the suspect.
According to Sergeant Wesley Twigg, further investigations led the members to an address in Bloem Street, Goodwood.
When they searched the premises they found another licensed firearm and drugs
in the garage. The members confiscated mandrax and packets containing tik and
an undisclosed amount of cash. The two licensed firearms were also confiscated.
A 48 year old man was arrested for the possession of drugs.
Once charged the suspect will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ court.
