Western Cape police arrested four suspects in separate incidents in the province for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition
Officers attached to Maitland Flying Squad were patrolling
in Delft area and community members stopped and alerted them of a robbery in
progress. The members responded and heard shots being fired nearby.
“A 24 year old suspect was caught and arrested for attempted
murder, armed robbery and the unlawful possession of a firearm. He was detained
at Delft SAPS and is expected to appear in the Bluedowns Magistrates court soon,”
said Captain FC Van Wyk.
Further more, Van Wyk stated that Ceres police arrested three suspects on
charges of attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm as well as
resisting arrest, after a complaint of an attempted robbery at a furniture
store in Ceres.
They are due to appear in the Ceres Magistrates court
tomorrow on the mentioned charges.
