Man arrested in Mitchells Plain for stolen electrical cables

A 50-year-old suspect was arrested in Mitchells Plain on Monday, for being in possession of stolen property.

The City’s Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, says officers responded to a complaint of electrical cables being stripped at a residence in Lentegeur.

‘’Upon arrival at the property they observed a heap of cable insulation outside the backdoor of the property. The officers also noticed a Wendy house on the property. After being given permission to enter, they found the outer covers of a 132 000V 3 core copper cable. Upon further inspection a complete 3m piece of 132 000V x 3 core copper cable was found,’’ said Dyason.
