A South African national and two Mozambican nationals were arrested in Pretoria following a kidnapping of a Pakistani businessman and the murder of another Pakistani businessman.

August 2024 when two business partners were attacked in their hardware store,
one was killed and the other kidnapped for ransom. SAPS organised crime led by
intelligence worked on the case. The two suspects were arrested in various parts
of Gauteng the other is currently under supervision in hospital after
sustaining a gunshot wound when he attempted to disarm a police officer during
the arrest.
Lieutenant Amanda Van Wyk says the victim was
rescued in Lawley and reunited with his family on Sunday.
The three suspects are facing charges of murder, kidnapping and attempted
murder.
